The first Trakia Invest Forum presented to foreign investors the competitive advantages of Trakia Economic Zone and the Plovdiv region
The first of it’s kind webinar “Trakia Invest Forum” presented the investment opportunities in the largest industrial park in Eastern Europe – Trakia Economic Zone (TEZ). In its more than 25 years of sustainable growth in the area of the second largest city in Bulgaria, Plovdiv, the zone has attracted over 200 international and Bulgarian companies. The forum on November 22, 2022 was aimed at foreign investors looking for opportunities to develop their business in a new and more secure “green” business environment. The moderator of the event was Preslav Bobev – Director of “Partnerships” at Internet Media Group and Chairman of the European Association of Digital Experts (EURODEA).
More than 20 potential investors from the USA, Turkey, Germany and England received detailed and practical information about the specific investment parameters in the zone, the assistance provided to new businesses by its partners and the local government, and learned about the history of companies already successfully operating in TEZ.
The Deputy Mayor of Plovdiv for Education and Business Development Stefan Stoyanov pointed out the advantages of the location and those of the municipality as a business, transport and educational center. Alexander Georgiev, managing director of “Easy Consult”, one of the largest recruitment agencies, presented data on the labor market in the region and in the specific industries in TEZ, the process of searching and finding personnel for the needs of new investors.
“Trakia Economic Zone” as an investment, social and green accelerator of Bulgaria was presented by its founder and executive director Eng. Plamen Panchev and Emil Yankov, Business Development Manager. They also pointed out the main advantages of TEZ – extremely short terms /from half to 1 year/ for realizing the investment intention and the strategy for carbon neutrality – an opportunity for companies to use “green” energy.
Svilen Stoyanov, director of “Projects” at “Milara International” and Ivan Vodenchev, manager of ABB Bulgaria – Rakovski branch, introduced the participants in the webinar to the experience of the two companies that have been working in the area for years. They were unanimous that the successful development of these international companies is also due to the excellent business and social environment created here. In the final part of the forum, the co-founder of “Industry Watch” and chairman of the Board of Directors of “Trakia Tech” Georgi Stoev introduced the attendees to the main economic parameters and competitive advantages of Bulgaria as an investment destination.
The “Trakia Invest Forum” initiative is the result of a successful partnership between several organizations with a strategic role in the Plovdiv region – TEZ, Plovdiv Municipality, Easy Consult, Trakia Tech and Internet Media Group. Identifying the needs of potential new investors in the region and in Bulgaria as a whole, they unite to offer complete complex solutions that will maximally facilitate foreign companies planning to invest in the country.
