10,000 disposable masks were donated by the Chinese province of Haynan to the Plovdiv region, and today the Regional Crisis Headquarters distributed some of them to health facilities. This was announced for Radio Focus – Plovdiv by the Chairman of the Staff and Regional Governor Dani Kanazireva, together with Eng. Plamen Panchev from “Trakia Economic Zone” and founder of Bulgarian-Chinese Business Development Association, personally delivered the donation.

We remind you that in October 2018 Zdravko Dimitrov, Regional Governor of Plovdiv region at that time, signed an agreement to establish twinning relations with the Republic of China, Haynan Province. That is why the Haynan government is now making a noble gesture to its Bulgarian friends. The initiator of the twinning between the two districts was the Bulgarian – Chinese Association for Business Development and in particular Changzing DJANG, Chairman of the “China” Department of the Bulgarian – Chinese Association for Business Development.

“Big gratitude for our donors. Providing doctors and healthcare professionals with the necessary protective clothing and protective equipment is extremely important in the situation of the growing pandemic we are in because they are at the forefront of the battle of our lives. The donation received to the District Headquarters from individuals and legal entities is regularly distributed to the hospitals. There are more to come”, said the district governor.

“We are constantly exchanging information with our colleagues from China because of the pandemic with the coronavirus. Haynan is one of the most developed provinces in China with very good healthcare. They were always very friendly to Plovdiv and asked us several times what we need. Many thanks to both the donors and the medics who do their best in the difficult situation we are in”, said Eng. Plamen Panchev.

Masks from the donation were received by the University Hospital “Plovdiv” and the Emergency Department of the hospital, the Emergency Department in the city, as well as the Regional Center for Transfusion Hematology in Plovdiv. The hospitals were also gifted with top-class masks, hats, safety hats and gloves.

Masks from the donations to the Plovdiv region from the Chinese province of Haynan are to be provided to the Hospital of Sv. Georgi, Hospital of Kaspela, Hospital of Sv. Ivan Rilski, Hospital of Sv. Caridad, Military Hospital, and Hospital of Dr. Kiro Popov in Karlovo – these are the hospitals that already accept and treat patients with coronavirus.

The medical establishments in Plovdiv region will receive from the Regional Crisis Headquarters more protective suits.
