Students started an internship at Vocational Training Center which is in Trakia Economic Zone
“Conducting the internship of students in the Vocational Training Center Trakia in Trakia Economic Zone / TEZ / is one of the first large-scale, good projects in which business is active in its relationship with education. At the Center, they work with new, modern equipment, they see that production is not a “dirty job” – it is one of the ways to increase children’s interest in vocational schools”. This opinion was shared by Eng. Kiril Saksanov, director of the Vocational High School of Mechanical Engineering in Plovdiv, in the educational program of BNT2 “Znanie.BG” on October 19.
Children from 4 vocational high schools in the Plovdiv region have already started their training at the Center thanks to the pilot project “Access to a technologically modern educational environment”. The initiative is implemented by the team of “Cluster Trakia Economic Zone” with the financial support of the Foundation “America for Bulgaria”.
The head of the program, Eng. Rosen Kosturkov, explained in the program that during the second school term he hopes that the high school students will have practical classes in factories in the Trakia Economic Zone. During the second academic year, specialists from the companies in TEZ will participate not only as mentors and lecturers, but will also participate in the final theoretical and practical tests of high school students.
According to Eng. Kosturkov, the foundations for the practice of the vocational schools are laid, and the Center Trakia acquires knowledge and skills for the specific productions in the area.
