Industrial Zone Kuklen
Area: 1 000 000 m2, in close proximity to Plovdiv international airport
Location: Kuklen - a town in southern Bulgaria, part of Plovdiv Province
Industries: metals, machinery, chemicals, automotive, logistics
The project is developed by the Industrial & Commercial Zone Kouklen (ICZ Kouklen AD) consortium which is a joint-stock company established between KCM 2000 AD and SIEINIT HOLDING AD, the latter being a foremost player in the construction sector. Engaged on the scheme are entrepreneurs of extensive experience in project management and operation. ICZ Kouklen consortium is aiming at reaching investors laying most effective and efficient provisions for them with the view of having them arrange their production, storage, and commercial activities at one point, and in the less time-consuming mechanism.
The project is located over an area of ca. 650 decare within the fields of Kouklen town, the latter being positioned between Plovdiv and Assenovgrad. Key to the project effectiveness is the proximity of the zone to excellent transport connections approaching the main road Plovdiv – Assenovgrad – Smolyan, and Plovdiv ring road to Sofia and Bourgass. The proximity to Plovdiv (8 кm) and Assenovgrad (8 кm) supplies the labour input to meet the operative demand of the zone. Plovdiv airport is found in the close vicinity which is a nice logistics convenience for channeling both cargo and passenger flow via air. Plovdiv – Assenovgrad rail way has its route established close to the zone, with Mavroudovo railway stop which is another transport utility for letting both cargo and passenger flow make use of the railway convenience. A mains gas line comes across the zone as well as a 110 кV power line to establish the power self-sufficiency of the zone meeting the power demand of the prospective projects located within the zone.
Estimates feature the development of logistics bases, commercial facilities, production plants in the metallurgy and machine building sectors. Underway is the infrastructure of the ground. Up and running is a steel hot-galvanization plant, the construction is in process of an extrusion plant, and a logistics center. Next to the zone one of the Bulgarian major non-ferrous metal production plants is found, namely KCM AD.
