Trakia Economic Zone in Bulgaria

TRAKIA ECONOMIC ZONE /TEZ/is the most developed industrial project in Bulgaria with an area of 10 700 000 m2 and a successful example of public-private partnership.

 

TEZ is developed by SIENIT Holding in cooperation with KCM 2000 and partners from Israel and Italy, with the support of Regional Administration Plovdiv,  9 MUNICIPALITIES /Plovdiv, Asenovgrad, Kuklen, Maritza, Parvomay, Rakovski, Rodopi, Stamboliyski, Kaloyanovo / and 4 CLUSTERS.

In 2017 Haskovo and Burgas municipalities joined TEZ.

History

1996: First investor in Industrial zone “Mariza” – Ferrero.
1999: The biggest investor in TEZ -Liebherr hausgeräte.

2005: Industrial zone “Rakovski” gets underway with major investors such as ABB, Magna Powertrain, Kaufland and others.

2005: Award “First Industrial Zone in Bulgaria – model for public-private partnership” from Invest Bulgaria agency for the success of Industrial zone “Rakovski”.

2006: I-st stage of TEZ “Education and Qualification” project: KCM.
2008: Industrial zone “Kuklen” gets underway with companies Mecalit and Techno Aktas and others.
2012: Trakia Economic Zone was established as a unification of 6 industrial zones, 9 municipalities and 2 clusters.
2015: TEZ was granted the First region for priority support from the State in Bulgaria.

2016: II-nd stage of TEZ “Education and Qualification” project: foundation of Industrial-educational board by Ministry of Education, Plovdiv municipality, Cluster “Trakia Economic Zone” and Industry Watch.

2016: TEZ programme for Sustainable development becomes a part of the Innovation plan of Plovdiv Region 2017-2020.

2017: Burgas and Haskovo municipalities join TEZ.
